You Don’t Need Another Job Board. You Need a System.
A three-step framework to help you stop sounding vague and start sounding ready.
Most people don’t land the wrong job because they’re unskilled.
They land it because they’re unclear.
They apply for everything.
They pitch themselves vaguely.
They write resumes that say everything and communicate nothing.
That’s not a job search. That’s career roulette.
Let’s fix that.
Step 1: Know Your Function
Skip the dream job fantasy.
Start with your core function. The type of work that energizes you.
Your options:
Creating: writing, designing, coding, building
Analyzing: solving, researching, finding patterns
Organizing: planning, coordinating, managing systems
Your action:
Write this sentence.
“I enjoy __________.”
This becomes your filter. What to pursue, what to ignore.
Step 2: Find Real Job Titles That Match
Go to LinkedIn. Type in your function.
Scroll. Don’t guess but pattern-match.
Look for:
Titles that appear repeatedly
Roles aligned to your energy, not just your degree
Jobs that feel like a clear step forward
Your action:
List your top 2–3 job titles that match your core function.
These become your focus lane.
Step 3: Gather the Right Kind of Proof
You don’t need a personal brand.
You need evidence.
Where to find it:
Academic projects: group work, research, presentations
Extracurriculars: clubs, event planning, volunteering
Personal projects: blogs, side hustles, creative work
Your action:
Select your top 2–3 proof points.
These become the anchors of your story.
